YouTube had been unable to free itself from harmful content, admitted the CEO of Google, Sundar Pichai in a recent Interview.
Pichai was asked to comment on YouTube’s deficiency to tackle harmful content, especially in case of a YouTube channel belonging to 14 years old girl, which had an anti-Muslim, homophobic and anti-Semitic content.
He declared himself unaware of this particular reference but ensured that the company wants harmless content on the platform.
There have been other cases as well related to the abuse and harassment on the video hosting search engine. As recently the story was dragged to the limelight where a renowned YouTuber, Steven Crowder has been repeatedly mocking Carlos Maza, a Vox journalist.
Pichai stated that the Google search approach of ranking content according to its quality will be implemented on YouTube as well, to avoid borderline content.
